CCC certification

The major reform of CCC mark will be implemented from March 20, 2018

CCC certification is also known as "China Compulsory Certification" in English, abbreviated as CCC. The symbol of CCC certification is "CCC", which is formulated by the Certification and Accreditation Administration of China in accordance with the "Regulations on the Administration of Compulsory Product Certification" (Order No. 5 of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China).

CCC certification is a mandatory national safety certification for the products involved. The main content can be summarized as follows:

1.According to relevant agreements of the World Trade Organization and internationally recognized rules, the country implements a unified mandatory product certification system for products related to human health and safety, animal and plant life safety and health, as well as environmental protection and public safety in accordance with the law. The National Certification and Accreditation Administration is responsible for the management and implementation of the national mandatory product certification system.

2.The main characteristics of the national mandatory product certification system are that the country publishes a unified catalog, determines uniformly applicable national standards, technical rules, and implementation procedures, formulates unified signs and markings, and stipulates unified charging standards. All products included in the mandatory product certification catalog must be certified and qualified by a nationally designated certification body, obtain relevant certificates, and affix certification marks before they can be shipped, imported, sold, and used in business and service premises.

3.According to China's WTO commitments and the principle of national treatment, the products covered by the first batch of products subject to mandatory product certification announced this time are based on the original import safety and quality licensing system, mandatory safety certification, and electromagnetic compatibility certification products, with appropriate additions or deletions. Previously, there were 138 products covered by the two systems. However, the newly released "Catalog" has removed 16 products, including medical ultrasound diagnosis and treatment equipment, which were previously included in mandatory certification management, and added 10 products, including safety glass for construction. In fact, there are a total of 132 mandatory certification products included in the "Catalog".

4. The state uses a unified "CCC" mark for mandatory product certification. After the implementation of China's mandatory certification mark, it will gradually replace the previously implemented "Great Wall" mark and "CCIB" mark.

5. The national unified determination of mandatory product certification fee items and standards. The formulation of new fee items and fee standards will be based on the principles of non-profit and national treatment, taking into account the current fee situation and referring to similar certification fee items and fee standards overseas.

6.The new mandatory product certification system came into effect on May 1, 2002, and relevant certification agencies officially began accepting applications. To ensure a smooth transition between the new and old systems, the original product safety certification system and import safety and quality licensing system were abolished from August 1, 2003.

CCC certification mark

The current "CCC" certification mark is divided into four categories, namely:

1. CCC+S safety certification mark

2. CCC+EMC electromagnetic compatibility certification mark

3. CCC+S&E Safety and Electromagnetic Compatibility Certification Mark

4. CCC+F Fire Certification Mark

The above four types of signs each have five sizes and specifications.

The first batch of mandatory product certification catalog

1、 Wire and cable (5 types in total)

Wire components, mining rubber sheathed flexible cables, AC rated voltage 3kV and below railway locomotive and vehicle wires and cables, rated voltage 450/750V and below rubber insulated wires and cables, rated voltage 450/750V and below polyvinyl chloride insulated wires and cables.

2、 Circuit switches and electrical devices for protection or connection (6 types in total)

Couplings (household, industrial, and similar appliances), plugs and sockets (household, industrial, and similar appliances), thermal fuses, tubular fuses for small fuses, switches for household and similar fixed electrical devices, and enclosures for electrical accessories for household and similar fixed electrical devices.

3、 Low voltage electrical appliances (9 types in total)

Leakage protectors, circuit breakers (including RCCB, RCBO, MCB), fuses, low-voltage switches (isolators, isolating switches, fuse combination devices), other circuit protection devices [protectors: current limiters, circuit protection devices, overcurrent protectors, thermal protectors, overload relays, low-voltage electromechanical contactors, motor starters], relays (36V) Below 1000V voltage), other switches (electrical switches, vacuum switches, pressure switches, proximity switches, foot switches, thermal switches, liquid level switches, button switches, limit switches, micro switches, reverse switches, temperature switches, travel switches, transfer switches, automatic transfer switches, knife switches), other devices (contactors, motor starters, signal lights, auxiliary contact components, master controllers, AC semiconductor motor controllers and starters), low-voltage switchgear.

7、 Household and similar equipment (18 types in total)

(1)Household refrigerators and food freezers: refrigerators, frozen food storage boxes, food freezers, and their combinations with or without frozen food storage compartments for household or similar purposes, with an effective capacity of less than 500 liters.

(2)Electric fan: single-phase AC and DC household and similar use electric fans.

(3)Air conditioner: A household and similar air conditioner with a cooling capacity not exceeding 21000 kcal/hour.

(4) Electric motor compressor: Closed (fully enclosed, semi enclosed) electric motor compressor used in household and similar air conditioning and refrigeration systems with input power below 5000W.

(5)Household electric washing machine: an electric washing machine for washing clothes with or without a water heating device, dehydration device, or drying device.

(6)Electric water heater: a fixed storage and rapid heating electric water heater that heats water below its boiling point.

(7) Indoor heaters: Radiant heaters, plate heaters, liquid filled heaters, fan heaters, convection heaters, and tubular heaters for household and similar purposes.

(8) Vacuum cleaner: a vacuum cleaner with the function of removing dry dust or liquids, powered by a series rectifier motor or a DC motor.

(9)Skin and hair care appliances: electrical appliances used for caring for human or animal skin or hair and equipped with electric heating elements.

(10)Electric iron: Dry electric iron and wet (steam) electric iron for household and similar purposes.

(11)Electromagnetic stove: A household and similar stove that uses electromagnetic energy heating and can contain one or more electromagnetic heating elements.

(12)Electric oven: including household and similar electric ovens with a rated capacity of no more than 10 liters, bread toasters, waffle makers, and similar appliances.

(13)Electric food processing equipment: household electric food processing equipment and multifunctional food processing equipment for similar purposes.

(14)Microwave oven: one or more I. with a frequency above 300MHz S. A household appliance that uses electromagnetic energy in the M. band to heat food and beverages, which can have coloring and steaming functions.

(15)Electric stoves, stoves, ovens and similar appliances: including household electric stoves, detachable fixed ovens, stoves, desktop electric stoves, electric stove heads, grills and baking pans, as well as built-in ovens and grills.

(16)Range hood: a household appliance installed on the upper part of cooking utensils and stoves, equipped with a fan, light, and control regulator for suctioning and removing oil fumes from the kitchen.

(17) Liquid heaters and hot and cold water dispensers.

(18)Electric rice cooker: an automatic insulation or timed electric rice cooker heated by electric heating elements.

8、 Audio and video equipment category (excluding broadcast grade audio equipment and car audio equipment) (a total of 16 types)

Single speaker and multi speaker active speakers with a total output power of less than 500W (effective value), audio power amplifiers, tuners, radios for various broadcast bands, audio and video recording, playback, and processing equipment in various carrier forms (including various optical discs, tapes, and other carrier forms), and combinations of the above equipment, power adapters for audio and video equipment, color TV receivers for various imaging modes, monitors (excluding automotive TV receivers), black and white TV receivers and other monochrome TV receivers, display tubes, video recorders, satellite TV broadcast receivers, electronic keyboards, antenna amplifiers, cable distribution system equipment and components for sound and TV signals.

9、 Information technology equipment (12 types in total)

Microcontrollers, portable computers, display devices connected to computers, printing devices connected to computers, multi-purpose printing copiers, scanners, built-in power supplies and power adapter chargers for computers, computer game consoles, learning machines, copiers, servers, financial and trade settlement electronic devices.
