All products in the controlled catalog sent to Ghana must apply for COC before shipment.

The detailed processing procedure is as follows:

1) Exporters shall submit product testing reports (such as CE, CB, GS, etc.), IDF, packing list invoices, COC application forms and other application materials before shipment;

2) The issuing institution reviews the documents and arranges for inspection upon approval;

3) After inspecting the goods, the exporter submits the final invoice, packing list, and scanned copy of the bill of lading to apply for certification.

IDF stands for Import License, full English name: Import Declaration Form, The importer will handle it locally in Ghana and provide it to the exporter to apply for COC.

Starting from January 1, 2019, goods exported to Ghana will be subject to the EasyPASS program

Ghana EasyPASS Project

The Ghana Bureau of Standards has confirmed the mandatory implementation of the EasyPASS project for goods exported to Ghana starting from January 1, 2019. Introduction to EasyPASS Application Process in Ghana

1. Importers/exporters need to submit a complete Request for Certificate Form (RFC) to the local Bureau Veritas inspection company for certification. The application form should detail the condition of the goods and provide product compliance certification documents such as test reports, quality certificates, etc; And submit formal invoices and packing lists;

2. Determine feasible implementation plans and applicable standards under the plan. If testing is required, it can be conducted in the laboratory of Nomo Testing. Nomo Testing coordinates sampling and implements laboratory testing;

3. On site inspection will be carried out after completing the above steps;

4. After the inspection is completed, the exporter shall submit the final documents (commercial invoice and packing list) to the Nuomo Testing Office for issuance of the Easy PASS customs clearance certificate.

To promote trade facilitation programs and adjust intervention levels based on risks, our Ghana EasyPASS has three different ways to demonstrate compliance:

Convenient process

Route A | Any product, any trader

Route B | Registered products

Path C | Licensed Products

Product registration (pathway B) and product licensing (pathway C) are provided for traders who regularly import/export to Ghana. The documents and systems that ensure compliance with Ghana's requirements will be pre audited (including test reports, inspection certificates, test results, inspections, factory audits, etc.).

Implementing a convenient process can reduce document review and/or pre shipment inspection of goods, accelerate certificate issuance, and conduct random supervision.
