S-MARKUC certification

Argentina's ENACOM officially releases new standards for low-power products

According to Resolution 92/98, which came into effect in 1998, Argentina implements S-Mark mandatory certification for electronic and electrical equipment with input voltages ranging from AC 50-1000 Vac or DC 50-1500 Vdc. The resolution divided the products into four groups and implemented them step by step starting from 2001. By August 1, 2004, all products must obtain S-Mark certification to enter the Argentine market.

Argentina is a member of the CB system, and CB certificates and reports are recognized, which can save a lot of trouble in repeated testing and sending samples.

The Argentina S-Mark safety certification does not require factory inspection, and the applicant should provide a Spanish nameplate (including safety warning signs) and user manual. The S-Mark logo should be accompanied by the certification body's logo. For example, in Argentina, the voltage is AC220V/50Hz, and there are two types of plugs: Class I grounded and Class II ungrounded, which should comply with the Argentine IRAM 2063/273 standard. If the product does not come with a power cord set, it must be mentioned in the test report and also indicated on the certificate.

1 Preface

Three different types of plugs:

<250V/10A Class I (IRAM 2073 standard)

<250V/20A Class I (IRAM 2073 standard)

<250V/10A Class II (IRAM 2063 standard)

2 Certificate issuance

If this product has the same structure as the CB model, only a small handling fee and file maintenance fee need to be paid

Safety signs must be marked on the product

Factory inspection is required

3 Document requirements

(1)Security testing report:

CB test report with CB certificate, IEC English version test report with Argentina's national requirements

(2)Additional files

application

Design drawings, specifications, circuit diagrams, temperature curve diagrams, and detailed lists of measuring equipment

Product photos

The safety warning in Spanish is printed on the nameplate

Spanish User Manual

Factory Inspection Report in Rhein, Germany

The plug complies with the Argentine IRAM 2063/273 standard

If the plug does not meet the standards of IRAM in Argentina, an additional specification sheet and sample of the power plug must be provided

4 Review time

Three weeks after all documents are submitted

5 Factory inspection

Implemented annually by designated institutions

Factory inspections can be integrated into other safety verifications, such as T Ü V Bauart, GS Mark, etc

6 Customer needs to know

Importers should present a copy of the authorization letter signed by the certificate holder and a valid S-Mark certificate

Under the purpose of protecting human, property, and domestic animal safety, Argentina formulated Article 92/98 on February 16, 1998. The article explicitly stipulates that minimum safety requirements must be established for commercial electrical equipment with low tension in Argentina through a verification system

92/98 proposed three stages of safety requirements for the mandatory product verification system: compliance certification, type verification, and product certification (S mark)

Before the implementation of S-Mark in Argentina, mandatory type verification is required

S-Mark will be enforced from the following dates:

(1) April 1, 2001- Electronic materials such as electronic components, fuses, wires, and other electronic devices

(2) August 1, 2001- Electronic products such as:

Electric iron

Electric heater

Power tools

Refrigerator

Ice making machine

cold air machine

Portable kitchen utensils

Electric shaver

Beauty and hairdressing products

Materials for lamp sockets and lamps

electric light

(3) December 1, 2001- Electrical products such as:

Inverter

Lawn mowers and similar equipment

Washing machine

dishwasher

Kitchen utensils (excluding portable kitchen utensils)

Microwave Oven

electric fan

Vacuum cleaners and floor beauty related equipment

(4) On April 1st, 2002:

All instruments defined by Resolution 92/98 and other instruments not listed above (such as IEC 609506006561010,...)

(5) On December 31, 2002, all appliances with voltage below 50V or above 63A

IEC standards apply to components and devices related to product safety

No EMC testing required

7 Technical Information

The voltage in Argentina is AC220V/50Hz

There are two types of plugs, namely grounded Class I and ungrounded Class II

The plug of the power cord should be verified by IRAM or T Ü V Argentina S-Mark
