Microbial test

The microbiological indicators for microbiological testing evaluation mainly include: total bacterial count, mold and yeast, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Candida albicans, Clostridium difficile, Enterobacteriaceae, Gram negative bacteria, and bile tolerant Gram negative bacteria.

 

The regulations/standards on which microbiological testing is based include:

European Pharmacopoeia (EP 2.6.12&2.6.13);

British Pharmacopoeia (BP Appx. XVI B);

United States Pharmacopeia (USP61&62);

Guidelines from the European Cosmetics and Fragrances Association (Cosmetics Europe);

The Cosmetic and Fragrance Association (TFA).
